Jake Harney, Manager

Jacob Harney was drawn to a career in accounting because of his love of numbers and being challenged, as well as the opportunities for growth in the field.

“There is no ceiling in the accounting profession,” said Harney, “and you get something new nearly every day.”

Harney joined Bland & Associates, P.C. directly from college in 2016, eventually working his way up to his current role as Audit Manager. In this role, he performs audits, reviews, and compilations for clients in a variety of industries. He specializes in construction and not-for-profits but has experience working with various other commercial and governmental entities.

Harney attributes his success to a competitive and positive attitude. He prioritizes challenging himself while making clients comfortable with the auditing and review process. By providing the utmost professional, prompt, and highly engaging service to clients, he closely relates to Bland’s mission.

“At the core of it is helping others, whether that’s clients or other coworkers,” said Harney. “I think that’s what makes the world turn and what I find meaning in – helping others.”
