Bland & Associates Announces Five New Directors

Bland & Associates, P.C. (Bland) is pleased to announce that five employees have been promoted to Director within the company.

According to new Director, Nikki Snow, Bland provides a unique environment in the field of accounting, fostering female leadership in an otherwise male-dominated field, as evidenced by the number of females promoted to director this month alone.

“Bland is a company that prides itself on being different from the norm – its innovative, progressive and anything but stuffy,” said Snow. “I think having more women in leadership positions will continue to help set us apart.”

Jamie Brewer, CPA, joined Bland in 2010 and was promoted to Manager of the Tax Department in 2014. She specializes in small business taxation, primarily in the construction, real estate, retail, restaurant, farming, and service industries. Her specialties also include multi-state compliance as well as sales taxation and payroll taxation. In her new role as Director, Brewer is taking the lead on Bland state and local taxation practice. She will also focus on staff management, providing client solutions, and managing workloads during tax season.

Brewer says her career focus is on building strong relationships, maintaining quick response times, and delivering great services. She is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2007. Prior to joining Bland, she served as a Staff Accountant at Florell & Barnard, P.C. in Lincoln, 2004-2010.

Ali Maloy, CPA, was recently promoted to Director and leads the Client Accounting Services division, which focuses on helping businesses and non-profit organizations succeed by taking the accounting burden off their plates, so they can focus more time on growing their businesses and expanding their programs.

Before joining Bland, she worked in audit-based roles at KPMG, Jones Lang LaSalle, Hyatt Corporation, ConAgra Foods, and Farm Credit Services of America. In 2010, Maloy established an outsourced accounting practice called Lone Tree Accounting, which merged into Bland in 2016. She grew up in Omaha and graduated from Omaha North High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration in 2001 and a Master’s of Science in Accounting and Information Systems in 2002, both from the University of Kansas. She has held an active CPA license since 2004.

Ryan McLouth, CPA, joined Bland in 2007 and was named a Manager in the Government Consulting department in 2014. McLouth, newly promoted Director, and his team primarily work on Medicare examinations and developing new audit procedures to help the government monitor new programs. The goal is to help the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) identify fraud, waste and abuse and provide recommendations for process improvements. Born and raised in Omaha, McLouth earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Creighton University in 2004. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) as well as a Certified Public Accountant.

Kailey Riskowski, CPA, CHFP, attributes her career choice to Bland. In 2004, she was a first-year Political Science major at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO). At the same time, she started working part-time as an Administrative Assistant for the firm that would introduce her to the possibilities of a career in Accounting. Riskowski first joined Bland full-time after earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from UNO in 2009. She was promoted to Manager of the Audit and Assurance Department in 2014 and named Director in November 2017.

Riskowski primarily works with long-term care clientele (both not-for-profit organizations and closely-held businesses). More specifically, she oversees assurance services, Medicaid and Medicare cost report preparation, and consulting engagements. In her role as director, she will continue to help health care providers manage and oversee their financial and operational issues, while they try to navigate a constantly evolving regulatory environment. Riskowski is also a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP), a certification achieved through the successful completion of the program offered by Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Nikki Snow, CPA, specializes in providing tax advice and preparation services to real estate, construction, and service industry clients as well as closely-held companies, non-profits, and high net worth individuals. More specifically, she handles multi-state income tax reporting, tax consulting and tax planning services. She is also in-charge of the firm’s continuing education and training for the Tax Department.

In 2013 Snow joined Bland in a supervisor role, was promoted to Manager in 2014, and in November she was promoted to Director. Prior to joining the Bland family, she held positions in various firms, including stints in Sioux City, Iowa and Nashville, Tennessee as well as a few Omaha-based organizations. Born and raised in Omaha, Snow earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting and Management from Midland University in 2002. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
