When I became an owner at City Glass in the late 90s, accounting duties and responsibilities were handled in-house. I was not “accounting minded” at the time and didn’t give much thought to there being a difference from one accounting firm to another.
As I started networking with other professionals in the construction industry, I met Jeremy Vokt of Bland and Associates. At no time did he ever approach me about moving my accounting business to Bland, but he did often tell me that if I needed anything, give him a call. As I spent more time around Jeremy, I soon discovered that not all accounting firms are the same, there was definitely something unique about Bland.
I decided to make the move – both personal and corporate. I’ve found tremendous value in how Bland stays actively involved with us in our efforts to become a stronger company (a missing component for City Glass up to that point). They are a great example of a “partnering relationship”.
