Bland & Associates Announces New Managing Shareholder

Jeremy Vokt, CPA has been named Managing Shareholder of Bland & Associates.  His predecessor, Jason Tonjes, CPA, CFE, will now be overseeing the Government Consulting department with the continued support of Amanda Pontow, CPA.

In the past three years, the firm has more than doubled from $5.6M in 2014 to $11.7M in 2017. The growth of Bland’s Government Consulting department has been even more astounding — going from $2.9M in 2014 to $7.7M in 2017.  Tonjes has decided to focus his attention on this important area and transition the role as Managing Shareholder to Vokt.

Vokt says the early goals will be ensuring the Comprehensive Primary Care + contract is on a good trajectory along with ensuring we meet the business development goals. In addition, the firm has reinvested a lot time and money in recent months to support the infrastructure of this growth as well as setting up the firm for the future.

“These tasks require a significant amount of focus to implement, as desired, in a timely fashion,” said Vokt.

“The responsibility of running the Government Consulting department, in addition to managing the overall firm responsibilities, has simply grown into a two-person job,” he continued.

Born and raised across the river in Council Bluffs, Vokt joined Bland & Associates in 2006 and, most recently, served as the head of the Audit & Assurance department. Following his high school business teacher’s advice, he attended the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) because of its renowned, AACSB accredited Business and Accounting program.*  In 1998, he earned his B.S. in Accounting.
