Rachel Deaton, CPA
Director
Growing up in Beatrice, Nebraska, Rachel Deaton thought she wanted to be a banker because it was the closest thing to one of her favorite childhood pastimes: counting and rolling coins into bank rolls.
“I want to enhance the firm’s client experience by always exceeding their expectations and treating them with the highest amount of respect.”
Rachel’s Disclosures
I didn’t travel outside of Nebraska until I was 22. Now I’ve visited 15 states, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
I can use my feet as hands, monkey toes!
I enjoy running on the treadmill to binge watch Netflix.

Rachel’s plan was on course until she hit a detour, which came in the form of her high school accounting teacher, who opened her eyes to the exciting world of accounting. She could continue to count and be referred to as a bean counter!
Rachel joined Bland & Associates, P.C. (Bland) in 2015 and was promoted to Manager in the tax department in 2019. In this role, she prepares and reviews business and individual tax returns, with an emphasis in the medical field. She also prepares tax plans to provide tax savings strategies to clients.
Prior to joining Bland, Rachel worked exclusively in the accounting field continuing her pursuit of the elusive CPA designation, the ultimate bean counter. Rachel worked for an accounting firm for 7 years where she prepared and reviewed different types of tax returns, including personal, business, payroll, and sales tax.
Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Doane College in 2009 and became a registered CPA during her time with Bland. She has professional memberships in AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) and Nebraska Society of CPAs. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and volunteering for Partnership 4 Kids Book Buddy Program.
