Specializes in our audit and assurance not-for-profit niche with experience in construction, government, and long-term care assurance engagements (audits, review, compilations, and preparation of financial statements).
“I really enjoyed in my accounting classes in high school and thought this is something I could pursue, given there are so paths in the profession. Despite a few detours, I’m glad I made it to where I am now in my career!”
Anna’s Disclosures
I grew up on an acreage and my family ran a small farm operation. Some of my favorite childhood memories are being spending hours outside with my imagination.
Fall and Winter are my favorite seasons. Cold and snow doesn’t bother me as much as hot weather!
My first job was a cupcake decorater. It didn’t last long given I have very little artistic ability.
I love reading books (favorite genres: memoirs, historical fiction, and classic lit.)

I worked 6 years at a Nebraska not-for-profit organization, counseling students and families across the nation on their student loan debt repayment options as well as student aid available to them. When they get big wins, it’s great to see the impacts and cheer them on. Another aspect I try to approach each audit with is how can we offer valued recommendations that can help in areas where an NFP may need help or has an area to improve upon. This could be like an upcoming audit standard or general industry guidelines for reporting.
I like seeing how NFPs are each unique in the way they serve our communities and how they create value within their programs. It’s satisfying to see their growth and how they adapt or change throughout the years too.
