Kevin Hughes, CPA
Director

Bland Director Kevin Hughes, CPA, remembers feeding his love of numbers by figuring out baseball stats when he was young, before such facts were readily available.  He also understands doing his job well is about so much more than numbers.

“I have always been a numbers guy, but I know it is equally, if not more important to build relationships with peers as well as clients,” said Hughes.

“I make a constant effort to treat people with respect and add a more personal approach to how I work with others, teaching clients and training peers with relevant explanations and anecdotes,” he continued.

Hughes joined Bland & Associates in 2004 as a Manager and was made a Director in 2014.  He serves as a leader in the firm’s Government Consulting Department, playing a valuable role in its significant growth. As such he supervises large teams and coordinates the communication processes between Bland, government agencies, and teaming partners.  He is also involved with the firm’s governmental professional standards review process.

Kevin was born and raised Omaha and attributes his strong work ethic to his parents who were both raised in small, Nebraska farming communities.  He earned a B.A. in Business Administration at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1981 and is a Certified Public Accountant.  Prior to joining Bland, Hughes worked for Herbert & White, P.C., 1981-2004.
