Katie Brabec

| According to Katie Brabec, CPA, a fateful high school field trip to a CPA firm ‘sealed the deal’ on her career choice. However, her love of Accounting was born when she was much younger.
Growing up on a farm in Prague, Nebraska, young Brabec enjoyed watching her father do the bookkeeping for the family farm and, when she was old enough, he passed the calculator to her. “When I got old enough, my dad would let me add up the columns of income and expenses on the calculator and then he would double check my work,” she said. “I thought it was a lot of fun.” In 2009, she joined Bland & Associates as a college intern and has since worked her way up to Director in the Government Consulting department. In this role, Brabec serves federal agencies, performing various types of financial and compliance audits. She graduated from Creighton University in 2010 with a BSBA in Accounting. Brabec is also a Certified Public Accountant. |
