|You could say Jeremy Vokt, CPA, Managing Shareholder, is passionate about Accounting. He says he’s always loved, not liked, LOVED numbers and knew he wanted to be a CPA since high school.
“As a kid, I would add up everything,” said Jeremy. “I would add the nutrition facts on the cereal box like other kids searched for the prize or completed the puzzles.”
Born and raised across the river in Council Bluffs, he joined Bland & Associates in 2006 and serves as the head of the Audit & Assurance Department.
Vokt is a Bland Shareholder but, more than anything else, he says his most important job is providing clients with outstanding service, professional advice, and unparalleled financial direction.
“It’s important that my clients see me as a partner who looks out for the best interests of their companies and not just a typical bean counter,” he said.
“Our clients expect me to translate their financial information into useful knowledge they can use to make sound business decisions,” he continued. “So, I take pride in being able to explain a company’s financial situation in plain English.”
Following his high school Business teacher’s advice, Vokt attended the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) because of its renowned, AACSB accredited Business and Accounting program*. In 1998, he earned his B.S. in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and he is also Accredited in Business Valuations (ABV), AICPA. Prior to joining Bland & Associates he served as a manager at Lutz & Company, P.C.
* AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) Accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized/professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn.
