Bland Heads to “The City of Brotherly Love”
Our managing shareholder, Jason Tonjes, put on quite a show while in Philly this month. He brought the house down while discussing firm growth, business relationships, and loyalty. The theme of the conference focused on creating and nurturing relationships with new and existing clients, and staff. Our accounting firm, Bland & Associates, was among the 62 accounting firms from North, South, and Central America represented at BKR International’s Americas Regional Meeting in Philadelphia, June 5-9, 2015. Bland & Associates is an independent member of BKR International, the fifth largest global association of accounting and business advisory firms.
Carl George, a nationally renowned consultant and former managing partner of Clifton Gunderson, shared “Lessons Learned and Best Practices from the Frontline” in a keynote address. Social psychologist and consultant, James Kane of James T. Kane, LLC gave a keynote on “The Loyalty Switch: How to Make Anyone Loyal to You, Your Organization, or Your Cause.” David Knoch, president and CEO of BKR Strategic Alliance Partner 1st Global, presented his thoughts on ethical business practices and leadership in his session, “Conscious Capitalism: Enabling Human Flourishing.” Christine Nelson, senior communications and marketing leader with BKR Strategic Alliance Partner Ingenuity Group, shared how to “Compete to Win More Recruits, Clients, and Target Acquisitions.”
“Attracting the best talent and A-list clients is a challenge across our profession,” said Jason Tonjes, BKR International Americas Regional Chairman and Managing Shareholder at Omaha CPA firm, Bland & Associates. “By attending BKR’s Americas Regional Meeting, we gather and share the latest information to help us overcome many growth challenges and continue to flourish.”
“We always find value in attending BKR events, whether it’s the top-notch speakers and trainers or the networking with our colleagues,” said Jason Tonjes.
“BKR’s growth is a clear indication that members gain value,” said Howard Rosen, BKR Worldwide Chairman and managing partner of St. Louis-based Conner Ash P.C. “More and more, we hear that businesses choose CPAs who are globally astute and can provide trusted international connections. We have both through BKR.”
