|Lena Pierson, CPA says she originally had her heart set on a career in Medicine. Thankfully, her dad intervened and suggested Accounting.
“It turns out that debits and credits fascinate me, and I get squeamish every time I see blood – so it’s good thing I gave it a try!” said Pierson
As a Bland & Associates Director, Pierson primarily directs various projects and client relationships for contracts with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in our Government Consulting Department.
According to Pierson, beyond assets and liabilities, she works diligently to anticipate client needs, always striving to stay one step ahead.
“At Bland, we focus on being a true partner and doing the absolute best for our clients,” she said. “You can’t do that without getting to know your client on a professional and personal level and deeply caring about your client’s well-being.”
Born and raised in Russia, Pierson first came to the United States as part of a high school exchange program, and was placed with a family in Minneapolis to attend South High School for a year. She earned a BS in Economics, with a specialization in Banking, at the Chita Branch of the State Irkutsk Economic Academy of Russia in 2000. Returning to the United States, Pierson earned a BS in Business Administration from Northern Michigan University in 2002. She joined Bland & Associates the same year and was named a Director in 2014. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
